The title suggests the light and rapid movement of this music, written especially for the inaugural concert of the new president of the University of Rochester, Dennis O'Brien, and is dedicated to the composer's dear friend, Donald Hunsberger, sailor, and conductor of the Eastman Wind Ensemble. It is inspired by various depictions of wings, from Greek mythology, to Plato's philosophy, to the medieval psalmist, and to the sailors and skippers of the sea. Newly engraved.
