Description: Spanish Dance is a winner with both elementary and high school students. The LH has the tango rhythm and the RH has a lyrical melody. It is in ABA form.
Purpose: There are three main purposes for this selection: 1. It is an excellent recital solo. 2. To introduce the Spanish rhythm. 3. It is a “dessert” selection.
Suggestions for Instruction: Discuss the interval of a third and show how to play legato. Find the LH rhythmic pattern on A, E and D.
