“Make My Life a Sacrifice” is a sermon in song, calling both singer and listener to a life of service. Lyricist Jan McGuire compels us to make our lives a song for God. Joseph Martin uses the familiar Hendon hymn tune, “Take My Life and Let It Be” to punctuate the powerful message of the text. The congregation is invited to join the final refrain in a mighty crescendo of consecration and commitment. Commissioned in honor of Larry Flanagan for twenty years as Minister of Music at the First Baptist Church in Dalton, Georgia, this song of devotion and service is thoughtful and inspiring.
